The Haven Codex

Finding Your Way in the Haven

A safe haven for every world you create. Find a destination, choose a character, and discover the people and stories waiting beyond the threshold.

Start with Home

Home is your starting point. Return to a recent destination, explore Haven, switch characters, or use your Favorites and Archives. If you know a Location’s name, use Go to a Location.

Discover worlds and destinations

Open Discover to browse and search places and characters. WhoChat lists open public rooms, including rooms without recent activity. SeeAll brings recent public-room posts together in a view-only feed; it does not include whispers or private or unlisted rooms.

Choose your character

Use Switch Character on Home to choose who you are writing as. Open Your Characters to manage your characters, or use the Account menu to reach your character controls.

Messages and community

Messages gives you access to mail and notifications. Room Whispers are private messages within a Location; they are excluded from SeeAll.

Visit Community for Haven information and the Corkboard, where members share notices, roleplay hooks, events, and discussion.

Understand the map

Our vocabulary is World → Region → Location → Area. A destination is any place you can visit, rather than another level in that structure.

Some application labels still use earlier names: Realm means World, Settlement means Region, and Room means Location. An Area is a named part or view within a Location.

Your account, comfort, and safety

Open Account for personal controls, Blocking, Report a Problem, and Tester Feedback. Account → Account & Appearance Controls opens your Control Room.

The Haven is an adults-only community. All members must be 18 or older. Review The Haven Accord and Terms of Service; each page shows its current draft status. Respect other members’ boundaries and follow the rules of each Location.

Need help or found a problem?

Use Report a Problem for a concern, or Tester Feedback to share a bug or suggestion. For a bug, include the page, what you were trying to do, what happened, and any error message. Never include passwords, invitation codes, or private conversations.
